As a follow-up to the Dan and Company saga. We see now that CBS has appointed a two man "commission" to examine the entire debacle. It seems clear though that the person who will take the fall (perhaps the only one) will be the producer/liberal activist Mary Mapes.
Here is one interesting question that I'd like to see addressed though. The CBS House of Cards on this story really collapsed when the retired typist Marian Carr Knox stated clearly that the documents were forged. Dan and Company took some solace from her remarks though, because she also said, that while forged the documents reflected the feelings of her boss at the time. However, she also went on to say that there were a lot of "fortunate sons" in Texas at the time, and she named several names, inclduing that of Lloyd Benson. But as of yet no reports about Benson or his son, no attempts to interview them, which seems appropriate at least for background information and to find out how plausible it was that the Bush family received some kind of preferential treatment. Of course the fact that Benson has been a leading democrat, former senator and vice-presidental candidate probably has nothing to do with this oversight.
