Pater Gammons reported today that while appearing on a Boston Talk Radio show, John Kerry, in another apparent attempt to connect with the "common man" discussed how he was a "life long Red Sox fan" and that his favorite player when he was growing up was "Eddie Yost." Of course the problem is that Yost never played for the Red Sox. He actually played 12 yrs for the Washington Senators, and two years each for the Detroit Tigers and Los Angeles Angels.
I wonder if his favorite quarterback for the Boston Patriots was Jack Kemp :-) (yes I know he played for Buffalo)
It was interesting the strong reaction against Kerry in the Gammmons little article. Gammons, who was a long-time Boston Globe sports writer clearly does not think much of the junior senator from his home state.
